Officer Frank Denzinger was shot and killed when he and another officer responded to a domestic disturbance call in Georgetown, Indiana.
A 15-year-old suspect ambushed both officers with a high powered rifle as they arrived at the scene. Officer Denzinger was transported to University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, where he succumbed to his wounds. The other officer was also wounded in the shooting.
The suspect committed suicide in the home a short time later.
Officer Denzinger had served with the agency for 4 years.
He is survived by his Parents, two sisters and wife Tara and 2-year-old daughter Avery.
